02/05/2020 - PRAISE INDEED.
Saturday 2nd May 2020. East Anglian Daily Times published in their "weekend" pull out an article by Suffolk resident Michael Cole, former BBC reporter and Director of Public Affairs at the Harrods Group of Companies entitled "Who have been the Crisis winners and sinners?". It talks about various organisations that have been operating during the shut down period and comments on their performance. Binder Ltd have been singled out for praise in the article which stated the following:
"Topping my Winners List are all those people who have kept working. They are the muscles, sinews and guts of East Anglia, keeping the region going.
In particular, I nominate a firm doing dirty but vital work for the public health, without the spotlight enjoyed by politicians or the acclaim rightly accorded to
valiant, indispensable hospital heroes.
Binder and Co. of Claydon, near Ipswich, is not glamorous. You see their dark blue tankers on the roads. They pump out sewage plants at the hundreds of
properties without mains drainage across Suffolk and beyond. I have dealt with Binder for 32 years. A man in smart overalls arrives on time. He does the job
proficiently. Over the decades, I have met dozens of Binder’s men. They have all been pleasant, polite and efficient.
I am just a customer. I have never spoken to the management. I’d like their bills to be smaller but otherwise have no complaints.
During the emergency, Binder’s work has continued largely uninterrupted. “Local heroes”? There used to be an advertising campaign for local tradesmen
using that slogan. Binder’s men help bind the region together."
